Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) pricing experience. The role will support rate development, profitability reviews, risk monitoring, and regulatory filings. You will work with actuarial, underwriting, product, and data teams to turn complex insurance data into clear pricing recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Extract, prepare, and validate policy, claims, and external data for pricing studies and actuarial analysis.
  • Develop pricing indications, loss cost models, rate revisions, and rate monitoring reports.
  • Apply exposure and experience rating techniques based on data quality and availability.
  • Analyze loss development, trends, IBNR allocations, inflation, catastrophe impacts, and changes in portfolio risk.
  • Incorporate product changes and rating factors into new or revised rates.
  • Support rate filings by preparing exhibits, evaluating base rate changes and dislocations, reviewing competitor filings, and checking regulatory requirements.
  • Build quality control processes to improve the accuracy of pricing analyses and filing materials.
  • Partner with data and technology teams to define the data elements needed for pricing, rating, and filing use cases.
  • Use statistical methods and predictive modeling techniques, such as GLMs, XGBoost, or Lasso, where appropriate.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data preparation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manage project plans and timelines, and present findings and recommendations to actuaries, product teams, and senior leadership.
  • Share knowledge and help train team members on pricing and filing tools and techniques.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in P&C actuarial pricing, including loss cost modeling, rate indications, rate revisions, and rate monitoring.
  • Experience analyzing large policy, claims, and external datasets.
  • Knowledge of insurance rate filings, regulatory requirements, and filing exhibits.
  • Proficiency in Excel and at least one analytical tool such as R, Python, or SAS.
  • Strong quantitative, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across actuarial, underwriting, product, and data teams.
  • Progress toward an actuarial designation is preferred; ACAS or FCAS is a plus.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $130.00 - $140.00 per year
