Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Credit Deal Desk Consultant with strong expertise in credit deal economics, financial modeling, and lending program profitability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building deal-level P&L models for credit card, consumer lending, or commercial lending programs.
The consultant will develop a reusable credit deal economics model that evaluates profitability and allocates revenue, costs, and returns across four key parties: the platform, program partner, issuing bank, and balance sheet/capital provider.
The role involves close collaboration with credit risk, finance, and GTM pricing teams to develop financial assumptions, validate deal economics, and deliver a scalable model for future credit programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Build reusable deal-level P&L and credit economics models covering platform, program partner, issuing bank, and capital provider.
- Develop financial models that flex across different customer segments, credit programs, and product types.
- Model customer acquisition costs (CAC), KYB/KYC, underwriting, servicing, and operational expenses.
- Develop receivables models, segment-level credit loss curves, revolve rates, and payment rate assumptions.
- Analyze cost of funds and cost of capital based on segment-level funding and return requirements.
- Develop and evaluate pricing structures, including APR, fees, partner bounties, and revenue-sharing arrangements.
- Prepare segment-level asset cash flow projections and financial materials for capital markets due diligence.
- Partner with credit risk, finance, and GTM pricing teams to validate financial assumptions and model outputs.
- Document model assumptions, methodologies, and calculations to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Deliver and hand over a reusable financial modeling framework, including documentation and walkthroughs, to internal deal desk and credit risk teams.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in credit risk, consumer or commercial lending finance, structured finance, deal desk, or financial pricing roles.
- Hands-on experience building credit deal economics, unit economics, profitability, and deal-level P&L models.
- Strong understanding of credit card and lending program economics, including APR, fees, interchange, partner bounties, and revenue-sharing structures.
- Experience modeling receivables, credit loss curves, revolve rates, payment rates, and cost of funds/capital.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel financial modeling skills, including building structured, reusable, and well-documented financial models.
- Experience preparing financial models and materials for investor or capital-provider due diligence.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work directly with senior stakeholders across finance, credit risk, and pricing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with card issuing, embedded finance, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), or bank partnership programs.
- Exposure to forward flow arrangements, warehouse facilities, and capital markets funding structures.

Recognizing this gap, senior industry executives put their credibility on the line to form iShare and ensure they create a fulfilling experience with lasting value for all stakeholders – customers, employees and partners. iShare leadership team has 20+ years average IT experience and is well-rounded in technology, operations, account and customer management. Our experience spans C-Suite positions with Fortune 100 firms as well as mid-tier firms. Our background includes stints at multibillion-dollar ITO / BPO firms as well as startups.
